In this session I talk about what it really means to feel seen and valued at work. I’ll share some of the hidden struggles that marginalized folks often face—like always having to prove our qualifications or dealing with microaggressions—and how these experiences can impact our sense of belonging. For example, I'll talk about the expectations of white or western professionalism as a standard, or how we find ourselves counting how many people look like us in the room when we enter a space. We’ll look at ways to build confidence, connect with others, and create change, even if we’re not the ones in charge. My goal is to offer practical tools to help folks show up authentically and help foster a more inclusive space for everyone.
