Recognizing the Unseen: Mixed-Race Employees in DEI

Speaker: Dr. Shawna M. Gann

July 23, 2025, at 1:00-2:00 PM ET

This webinar would raise awareness among DEI practitioners and workplace leaders about the often-overlooked experiences of Mixed-Race Employees (MREs). MREs are among the fastest-growing demographics in the U.S. workforce, with a 276% increase between the 2010 and 2020 census. Yet, despite their growth, their unique identity dynamics and challenges are frequently left unaddressed in traditional DEI initiatives. This session would introduce participants to key insights from my research, shedding light on how recognizing MREs' perspectives can enhance workplace culture. Through interactive polls and reflective exercises, attendees will gain practical strategies to incorporate MREs’ needs into their DEI efforts. This webinar would serve as an opportunity to help leaders and DEI professionals foster a more inclusive environment that celebrates the multidimensional identities of all employees, especially those who don’t fit into singular racial categories.

June 25, 2025, at 1:00-2:00 PM ET

What are the assumptions about inclusion and inclusive leadership that hinder real

progress in organisations? How can we ensure that inclusive leadership becomes a

core and sustainable element of organisational performance rather than an

additional or superficial practice?

Are you ready to have your assumptions about inclusive leadership, and inclusion to

be unpacked and reworked as a helpful tool rather than a distraction? Do you want

to learn how inclusion can drive innovation and excellence and create great places to

work?
